Things You Should Do Before & After Yoga Class
A consistent yoga practice can offer many benefits, and there are some easy things you can do to feel great before, during and after your time in the studio:
Hydrate
Before class: Many of our classes have added heat or humidity, which means you’re going to break a sweat. Start hydrating well before you step onto your mat. Try to drink at least 20 ounces of fluids during the two hours before the start of class.
After class: Once you’ve worked up a sweat in the studio, you’ll want to rehydrate. Listen to your body and continue to drink water until you’re feeling replenished. Looking for a little extra help? Try adding an electrolyte to your water. We like Nuun tablets.

Fuel-up
Before class: Make sure your body has enough energy to crush whatever CorePower class you head into. Try eating a small, but nutrient-filled snack 1 hour to 20 minutes before class like a banana, nuts or your favorite protein bar.
After class: Refuel with a meal containing healthy proteins and carbs. We love this Heart-Healthy Teriyaki Bowl or Plantiful Spring Pasta.

Talk to Your Teacher
Before class: This is no secret - our teachers LOVE chatting with their students. On your way in to class, ask about any props you may need, injuries you have and/or just let them know how your day is going!
After class: Your teacher will be at the front desk for at least 30 minutes after class is over. Use this time to your advantage! Don’t be afraid to ask about a posture that you’re working on or a song you liked. Your teacher wants to talk with you and hear your feedback!
Rest & Recoup
Before class: Whether you’re heading into a Hot Power Fusion or a Yoga Sculpt, your body needs to be well rested. The night before you take a class, treat yourself to a good night’s sleep (ideally 7-8 hours) so that your body is fresh and ready to go.
After class: Once you’ve put in time on your mat, let your body recoup. A great way to relax and relieve sore muscles is by taking a bath. To give your soak an extra boost, try adding epsom salts. Not only will you feel and smell amazing, but these salts have a ton of other physical benefits as well.
