One of my favorite ways to wind down from a long day is by taking a bath. Between work, technology fatigue and lots of yoga (who else is doing #chooseyourownchallenge?!), baths really help to calm my mind and body.

Even though I have a deep appreciation for baths, I typically don’t have the time or energy to get too fancy with things. I keep a few candles on hand for soft lighting, and then throw in a scoop of Epsom Salt while the water is running.

Epsom salt baths have a ton of benefits like relieving sore muscles and helping with insomnia. Plus, if you add essential oils, they’re also great for aromatherapy!

Below are a few of my favorite Epsom Salt recipes.  I love to mix these up and put them in interesting jars to display.

Start with a base

  • 2 cups Epsom Salt

  • ½ cup Baking Soda

  • ¼ cup Dead Sea Salt

  • 2 Tablespoons Choice of Oil (coconut, jojoba, argan, etc.)

Add some good smelling oils!

  • Mint Blend – 5 drops peppermint oil, 3 drops eucalyptus oil, 2 drops lavender oil

  • Refresh Blend – 4 drops grapefruit oil, 2 drops bergamot oil, 2 drops lemon oil

  • Flower Blend – 4 drops lavender, 2 drops rose oil, 2 drops clary sage, 2 drops chamomile oil

  • Comfort Blend - 4 drops cinnamon oil, 2 drops bergamot oil, 2 drops tuberose oil

Have other ideas? I’d love to hear yours!
