Benefits of Sweating
At CorePower Yoga, we love to add heat to our classes to help you get your sweat on. A common reaction after someone’s first yoga class in a heated room is “I never knew I could sweat that much!” Well you can --and it’s good for you! Here are a few reasons why sweating it out can be so beneficial.
Train Your Sweat System. You might notice after your 100th yoga class, you start sweating more quickly than the first time you took a heated class. That’s because you’ve literally trained your body to sweat! After repeatedly working out in a heated room, your body starts to recognize the heat and begins to sweat to cool you down.
Increase Your Heart Health. Throughout class, there will be moments when your heart will likely pump harder to cool your body down. When your heart amps up and begins to beat faster, your circulation increases. The harder you work and the more you sweat, the more you can strengthen your heart muscles.
Boost Your Immune System. When you start to sweat, your body reacts similarly to when you have a fever. As your body warms up, it behaves like it’s trying to fight an illness, which can increase your white blood cell count and your immune system.
Amp Up Your Workout. After several Chaturangas, some core strengthening exercises and a few Donkey Kicks into Handstand in a heated room, you're probably good and sweaty – and rightfully so! You're working hard. The harder you work in a heated yoga class, the more your workout can have an impact on the results you’re trying to achieve.
Get that Yoga Glow. A good sweat gets your blood pumping and brings fresh, oxygenated blood to the surface of your skin. After class, the benefits can still be seen, as increased circulation can improve the texture of your skin and leave you with a healthy glow.
