How to: Find #MeTime
Practicing yoga is a great example of self-care. You're taking (at least) 60 minutes out of your day to reconnect and reset - mind, body and spirit. And while we're big fans of this type of self-care, there's a lot of other ways to be kind to yourself too! We asked our CPY Team of managers and instructors for their ideas and here's what they said:
“Self-care, to me, consists of little things like simply listening to my favorite podcasts in the car driving to and from the studio, or going on a long walk with my little girl in her stroller (which is starting to be a fun challenge, because she wants to walk everywhere!). Anytime that I can spend with my husband and daughter together with no technology is also a sure-fire way to fill my cup.”
Megan W. - Berkeley West, CA
“Eat something green everyday, 5-10 minutes of silent seated meditation before bed and 9-10 hours of sleep.”
Kevin H. - Aliso Viejo, CA
“I love to get manis and pedis. Especially as a yoga instructor when we are always barefoot.”
Elizabeth S. - Lakeview, IL
“I love to order takeout, get some good scented candles, and stay in and binge watch a new TV series. Oh, and ice cream never hurts!”
Annie G. - Shorth North, OH
“'Me Time' is walking around the Seattles Farmers' Markets (Pike Place and Ballard) and checking out all the fresh produce, flowers, and food!”
Dominique L. - Ballard, WA
“I spend time with family, my old man dog, and cherished friend. They definitely keep me sane.”
Jewels P. - Falls Church, VA
“Time in nature. I love the heated studios, but sometimes only a breath of fresh air and blue skies will offer the reset I need.”
Leigh Anne S. - Sherman Oaks, CA
“While I love connecting with students and my CorePower family, I find it super important to 'check-out' and find some solo time during the week. This means putting my phone on do not disturb, reading a good book, and trading my yoga pants for sweats.”
Rachel N. - Blackhawk, CA
“Spending time with my dogs and relaxing at home watching HGTV”
Angela S. - Brewers Hill, MD
“Home restorative practice, drawing, journaling, making jewelry.”
