Creating a Calm Workspace
Whether you work from home or in a busy office building, creating a calm environment is crucial. Less stress means you will be more productive during your day. Here’s a few tips to help bring some calm to your workspace.
Bring in feel good images. Add a few photos, prints or postcards that remind you of a positive experience - these visuals can add inspiration to your day and offer a moment of tranquility when needed.
Incorporate soothing scents. Fill your workspace with a calming scent. Get an oil diffuser or add your favorite essential oil to water in a small spray bottle. Spray around you and your desk, and take a deep breath. Instant calm!
Remove clutter. Spend five minutes a day tidying up your desk. Papers can add up quickly, creating a lot of clutter. Try to only keep documents that are vital to what you are working on - trash or file the rest. A few minutes of organizing means no more overwhelming mess at the beginning of each day.
Get in the groove. Music can make or break a day at the office. Get some ideas from your yoga class to create a great playlist. Talk to your teacher for some of their recommendations! Or, if you hear something in class you like, head to your favorite music streaming service and explore similar artists or songs.
Add some life. Try adding a few small potted succulents or a mini cactus or two. These plants require very little water and are relatively low-maintenance - great for a workspace! Bringing some plants in will help to create your own lush little oasis right on your desk.
