Yoga Sculpt: Legs
A strong base is the foundation for a strong practice. Here are a few of our favorite postures to help you strengthen and tone your leg muscles.
HORSE CALF RAISE
Begin in Horse Pose
Inhale and root down through all four corners of your feet
Exhale and lift your heels off of the mat
Engage your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes as you ascend
SHIVA SQUAT
Start from Standing Splits
Exhale and chamber your lifted knee behind your bent standing knee
Inhale and extend the leg back up
SMURF JUMP
Parallel your feet on the floor
Draw your tailbone down and out
Pump your arms in and out
SUMO SQUAT
Place your arms behind your head
Inhale and squat low in Horse Pose
Exhale and draw your right knee to right elbow
Inhale and squat low in Horse Pose again
Exhale and draw your knee to your left elbow
