Inversions are addictive. They push our practice to the limit and turn our world completely upside down. And while it’s always fun to play around with Forearm Stand or Handstand, we can’t hide our love for Crow pose. After all, nailing Crow pose is a huge milestone on the mat. It’s the first arm balance you learn in our beginning classes!

Crow Pose

Try these tips to align Crow pose, and see how high you can soar!

  • Set your gaze. It’s all about your drishti, or gaze, in Crow pose. Look about six inches in front of you when setting up for this posture.

  • Spread your fingers wide. Rooting firmly though your hands will help you keep a strong connection with the mat as you begin to transfer your weight into the air.

  • Engage your core. There’s a reason our name is CorePower Yoga! So much of the energy and strength that we practice in our classes comes from the center of the body. Tighten your abdominal muscles, and feel your feet begin to fly!
