Go-to Sweaty Summer Hairstyles
There are so many fun things to do in the Summer like going to a festival, outdoor happy hour, and of course, we can’t forget brunch. The only thing that can make summer activities like this even better is a little yoga beforehand!
That said, yogis know it takes a little extra planning to go straight to a social outing from a sweaty yoga class. Going home or washing your hair wastes time, and you don’t want to miss a minute of the fun. That’s why we put together a few of our favorite Sweaty Summer Hairstyles!
Here’s what you’ll need to pack in your bag:
Brush/Comb
Dry Shampoo
Hairbands
Bobby Pins
Hair Spray (optional)
Top Knot
Start with dry shampoo, concentrating on the roots.
Pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure with a hairband.
Now comes the bun part! Loosely twist your hair and then wrap it around the base of the ponytail to cover the hairband.
Secure your bun with 4-6 bobby pins – at least one in the front, back and both sides. If you have thicker hair, you might need more.
Optional: Lightly spritz with hairspray to keep everything in place.
Half-up Top Knot
Start with dry shampoo, concentrating on the roots. This will freshen your locks, as well as add a little texture.
Using a comb or your fingers, separate your hair into two sections. In the photo above, we started the part at the top of the ears and moved up toward the base of the crown. You can leave more or less hair down depending on your personal preference.
Pull the top section of hair into a ponytail and secure with a hairband.
Similar to the classic Top Knot, twist your hair and then wrap it around the base of the ponytail to cover the hairband.
Secure your bun with 4-6 bobby pins – at least one in the front, back and both sides. If you have thicker hair, you might need more.
Optional: Lightly spritz with hairspray to keep everything in place.
Topsy Tail Pony
Start with dry shampoo, concentrating on the roots.
Gather your hair into a low ponytail and secure with a hairband.
Pull the hairband down the ponytail an inch or two.
Split your hair above the hairband into two equal halves.
Now comes the topsy part! Feed the bottom of the ponytail up and through the two halves above the headband.
If you want to cover the hairband, pull out a small piece of hair from the underneath side of the ponytail and wrap it around the hairband, then secure in place with a bobby pin.
Spritz with hairspray for a more secure hold.
Side Braid (with or without hat)
Start with dry shampoo, concentrating on the roots.
Create a deep side-part, then brush and gather your hair to one side.
Separate your hair into three even sections.
Loosely braid your hair while holding it over your shoulder. Secure with hairband at the end.
Gently tug the braided sections of hair apart to create a fuller look.
Pop on your favorite hat! It’s a great way to top off your look while protecting your face from the sun.
