You’re getting married, congrats! While wedding planning is one of the most exciting experiences in life, it’s also totally normal for it to be stressful and all consuming at times.

As a yogi that will be walking down the aisle in a few months, one of my favorite ways to refocus my thoughts and intentions is to remember my mantras. Mantras are words or phrases that are repeated often as a reminder of your core beliefs or as a way of encouragement.

Here are 5 Matrimonial Mantras I come back to when the guest list and the table arrangements and the checklist get to be too much:

1. The universe has my back.

Tough and stressful situations have a tendency to work themselves out when you give them the space to breathe.

2. I can’t please everyone.

Remember this: You can’t please everyone, you are not a taco after all! People love to share opinions about your wedding day, and the silver lining is that they’re invested in your love story. When they experience the love that’s present on your big day, they will realize that’s all that matters and the opinions will melt away.

3. I can save my sanity on the little details.

Pinterest and Etsy are amazing to help you get inspired, but they’re also notorious for making brides think they need to nail ALL THE DETAILS. Take a step back and pick 5 details you want to remember about your day, and focus your time and energy on those.

4. I am present.

Be mindful of the little moments throughout the planning process. While everything you’re doing is building up for the big day, enjoying the ride is a huge part of your wedding as well. Pause, breathe and be present for the day-to-day and your wedding will be even more special.

5. I am grateful.

At the end of the day, your wedding is about your union with your fiancé. Finding that great love to journey through life together with is a gift – enjoy the adventure your future holds.
