Teacher Spotlight - San Francisco
We met up with a few CorePower Yoga teachers to talk about how their practice makes them stronger, their personal mantras and their advice to yoga newbies.
David C.
How does your practice make you stronger? My practice builds my emotional strength by working through challenging postures in class and using that strength to overcome obstacles off my mat.
What is your advice to beginner yogis? Self study! Look around the room, ask a teacher or go online if you have questions about postures. You are your best teacher!
What is a mantra or intention that you frequently come back to in class? On my mat I focus on emotional availability. Allow yourself to experience whatever comes to body and mind.

Lauren P.
How does your practice make you stronger? The physical poses I practice on my mat teach me how to overcome physical, mental and emotional challenges off of my mat. Strength comes from mindfulness.
What is your advice to beginner yogis? Don't take yourself too seriously and have fun - it's just yoga.
What have you gained through your practice? What haven't I gained through my practice? Self-awareness/appreciation, mindfulness, gratitude, a sense of purpose, and new friends.

Nikita R.
How does your yoga practice make you stronger? Ultimate strength is not just muscle definition, in yoga it is so much more. The postures are ways for you to practice strength in challenge. Then, when you encounter challenges off of your mat, it is more likely that you will be able to meet them with the same amount of breath, patience, and love.
What is a mantra or intention that you frequently come back to in class? I am enough exactly as I am.
What have you gained through your practice? A deep relationship with myself. I no longer run away from my mistakes or try to blame them on something other. I love my challenges because they are the only opportunities I have to grow.
