We met up with a few CorePower Yoga teachers to talk about how their practice makes them stronger, their personal mantras and their advice to yoga newbies.

Adela A - DC

Adela A.

  • In 10 words or less describe why you love yoga: I love yoga because each practice is an opportunity to accomplish something new.

  • What is a mantra or intention that you frequently come back to in class? Fuel your fire – sometimes that means channeling your passion and other times it means channeling your frustrations, fueling that fire, using that energy to bring a positive and meaningful purpose to your practice.

  • What is your advice to beginner yogis? Don’t be afraid to fall. As a beginner, it’s okay to use “the wall” to help build your strength and courage as you progress in your yoga journey.

Brittney S - DC

Brittney S.

  • In 10 words or less describe why you love yoga:  Yoga liberates me from perfection & empowers me into unconditional self-love.

  • How does your practice make you stronger? My practice has challenged me to find strength in slowing down and holding space - in that space I can tune in, clear the clutter and find my breath.

  • When life happens and you can’t get to your mat, what helps you find steadiness? Music! Music inspires me and moves me physically and emotionally - pulling me into my present state.
