“I applied to this program to become a certified instructor for my students and community, who are graceful, kind, proficient, and empowered with a wide breadth of knowledge consisting of all the valuable principles in CorePower’s Teacher Training. The curriculum is comprehensive, and I especially love how it is blended to meet different learning styles. Moreover, it also includes the history and philosophy of yoga, which I believe are crucial to any foundation.”

“I applied for the scholarship because I love challenges and I enjoy doing yoga. I'm hoping to improve in the practice and also improve my strength and flexibility. I have shown my students what yoga is and the many benefits it has. We would do some of the basic poses together, however I want to be able to show them more and get them to begin exploring things out of their comfort zones.”

“I dream of supporting my students with weekly practice during our club meetings. I would also like to extend the practice to our staff and school community because yoga is not only good for our physical health, but also wonderful for our mental health. I want to reach as many students and teachers as possible and share my experience as a testament to the many benefits of practice. I want them to experience what I do on the mat. I want them to know we can quiet the mind as we patiently work with our bodies to achieve form, liberate ourselves from daily stress, and heal past trauma. I want them to find a safe space within practice where we set intentions of self-love that, in turn, benefit us all as a whole. I am also elated to share that as of today, my administrative team has approved a yoga advisory which will take place three times a week during the school day beginning next year. I am overjoyed at the thought of how many students will be introduced to this transformative practice.”
