We've all been there - your best friend calls right before class and asks you if you want to meet up for happy hour afterward. You know you won't have time to run home and get ready, but you don't want to show up looking like you just stepped out of a hot yoga studio either.

We've got you covered. Follow these seven pro tips and you'll get from the yoga studio to the street and on your way in no time.

  1. Wear more and carry less. Choose the pieces you will practice in as your base and layer on from there. Streetwear can be bulky and it can wrinkle - the less you have to stuff in a bag on the go, the better.

  2. Choose light and flowy styles that drape easily over your workout pieces – try a loose-fitting tank, tee or open front cardigan. Don’t forget to accessorize – jewelry, a scarf or a change of shoes can elevate your look with minimal effort.

  3. Find a sports bra that is simple and comfortable to fit smoothly beneath other pieces. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a cutout or print that adds interest when peeking out from underneath.

  4. Mix and match your street styles with technical pieces that aren’t too sporty – try a y-back, racerback or scoop tank with stretchy, sweat-wicking fabric.

  5. Make it your own! Choose colors, patterns and textures that speak to you. Don’t be afraid to mix prints or take a more subtle approach with a colored headband or hair tie.

  6. Go with shoes that will get you comfortably through the day – lightweight trainers and flip flops are your friends.

  7. Keep a travel-size dry shampoo. Dry shampoo will soak up unwanted sweat and oil to help you get away with not showering after your workout. Not your thing? Try a hat to camouflage your post-workout hair.
