We met up with a few CPY teachers to talk about why they love yoga, how they stay grounded outside the studio and their advice to yoga newbies.

How does your practice make you stronger? While I test and explore my physical limitations, I am able to expand my mental and emotional limitations.

How does your practice make you stronger? I take the intentions I set in class and apply it to overcoming the daily challenges.
A mantra or intention I frequently come back to in class: One of my favorite quotes, "Comparison is the thief of Joy" frequently crosses my mind [and reminds me] to appreciate where I am in yoga and life.

10 words or less on why I love yoga: Yoga has become the ritual that guides me back to my true self.
What have you gained through your practice? I've gained the rituals needed to be my best self, so I can better serve my community and raise the vibration around me.
My advice to beginner yogis: Let go. Let go of any ideas you have about yoga, yourself, your body, and any judgements. Allow yourself to be open to receive.
