Smoked Salmon + Avocado Toast
The health fads of the 90s trained us to believe that low-fat diets were the key to maintaining a healthy weight. Since then, we’ve come to understand that it’s not just the amount of fats that we eat that’s important, but also the kinds of fats.
The avocados in this recipe contain monounsaturated fats (aka “good fats”) that help your mind to stay sharp and focused and help you feel full after a meal. Smoked Salmon adds Omega-3 fatty acids to your diet, which helps to lower inflammation and can help keep your heart healthy by lowering triglyceride levels.
Ingredients
1/2 Avocado
1/2 Lemon juice
2oz Wild Smoked Salmon
1 Pinch Red Chile Flakes
1 Pinch Sea Salt
Cilantro (minced)
Instructions
Scoop avocado flesh into a small bowl and mash with a fork. Leave it a little chunky.
Toast bread until lightly browned. Spread avocado mixture onto the bread.
Cut smoked salmon into thin strips and layer on top of avocado mixture.
Garnish with red chile flakes, sea salt and cilantro.
