How do you make something you already love even better? That’s easy— do it with a friend! Here are five reasons to bring a friend with you next time you pop over to the studio to take a class.

Friends keep you committed to your practice.

Nothing will keep you motivated to come to class regularly like a yoga buddy. Numerous studies find that exercising with friends is a leading factor to staying committed to a fitness regimen.

You’ll learn more.

Learning all of the poses, alignment cues and variations that you hear in class is challenging. Your om’ie can help you perfect that Chaturanga, teach you the Sanskrit names of postures and demo how to do Dancer’s Pose with squared hips.

You’ll always have something to do after class.

The fun doesn’t have to end when class does. Meeting a friend for class means that you’ll have somebody to hang out with afterwards. Go to brunch. Make that happy hour. Take a long walk and catch up. The possibilities are endless.

You’ll become closer.

Nothing will bring two friends closer together than a hot, sweaty, challenging class. You’ll have plenty of inside jokes to keep you entertained for hours.

It doesn’t matter what you’re doing – when you’re with your BFF, the fun is instantly multiplied by ten. Who else would you rather laugh with when your instructor cues Lion’s Breath?!
