This time of year is hectic and with all that’s going on, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. A new year will be here soon and now is a great time to reflect and reset. Here are a few things you can do to be sure you’re heading into the new year as your best self. 

Lead with gratitude. Whether it’s writing a list of things you’re thankful for or simply taking a moment to appreciate your surroundings, practicing gratitude is a great way to get some perspective when things seem out of control. 

Breathe. This might sound like a no brainer, but spending a few moments working on deep breathing can be really beneficial. Just like in your yoga practice, focusing on your breath, even if it’s just for a short amount of time, can help you to center and refocus.

Practice self love. The Holidays are often about spending time with and celebrating others. That said, it’s important to take care of yourself in order to keep things in balance. No matter if you have 3 hours or 20 minutes, be sure to take some time for yourself. 

Lift others up. Encourage people around you when you get a chance. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word or giving some advice, one positive act towards another person can make a huge impact. 

Let yourself off the hook. You are doing enough. Read that one more time. Let go of things that are no longer serving you. Instead, turn moments of self doubt into opportunities for growth. Learn what you can from the situation and then move forward.
