If you’ve been to a CorePower Yoga class, you know we heat our classes to a certain temperature. It’s not by accident; it’s by design. Here’s why the heat is on at CPY:
Injury Prevention:
Heat is not just used to make you sweat out the toxins from your wild weekend. The heat actually helps your muscles and tendons to relax and stretch, helping to prevent injury while you move and dance your way through the poses.
Circulation:
The warm temperature also encourages circulation to critical tissues and organs in your body, strengthening your immune system and revving up your body’s natural healing abilities.
Tension Tamer:
Not to mention, the heat also helps relieve stress and tension – something we all build up in our lives outside the studio.
Rev Up to Zen Out:
As I’m sure you’ve noticed halfway through your C1 or C2 class, the heat also makes your practice more challenging. And if you’ve just joined the CorePower community, it’s common to feel a bit dizzy during your first classes in a heated environment. It’s important to listen to your body at these times, finding child’s pose or adapting each pose to the intensity that works best for you at the time. After coming to more classes, you’ll find that when the heat is on, both your physical and mental practice will reach a whole new level. In fact, many of us get addicted to the heat and can’t wait to find ourselves back in the warmth of the studio, day after day.
