If you had told me that this nutrition program was going to get my thyroid functioning correctly and change my body for the first time since college, I wouldn’t have believed you! But that’s exactly what happened. I’m 35 year old with 2 kids, and I honestly signed up for this program because my family was going to be out of town the weekend it happened to be offered. I didn’t even know what a cleanse was.

Last February, my doctor found antigens to my thyroid in my blood...not a good thing. She did not put me on medication as my hormone levels were not too far out of balance. She did tell me to have my blood checked every 6 months. After completing this nutrition program, I went back for a blood check. And guess what, the results came in as ‘perfect’.

I was equally amazed and pleasantly surprised by the way my body changed on the outside. I have always been quite healthy and athletic, being somewhat of an exercise junky. I have always weighed slightly more than I appear, but I chalked that up to being muscular and having a body shape that lends itself to “bling” (as Heather so sweetly calls it) on my hips, thighs and rear. But I was very happy with my body. I would laugh that I was lucky to have my least favorite body parts situated behind me. I had accepted my shape and never dreamed of changing it. Well, the 3rd day of the cleanse I started feeling aches all through my hips as my car trunk of toxins apparently melted away. The only negative has been having to replace all of my pants for the first time since losing that baby weight.

What’s more, this program was fun, energizing, bonding and a boost to my yoga practice. A friend in my life who did not know I was doing the program actually came up to me during the cleanse and exclaimed, “Wow, you’re glowing…what’s up with you?” Since the program has ended, by body continues to feel great. I am enjoying the knowledge I have in improving my food choices both for myself and my family.

I want you to know the deep impact that your work and knowledge have had in my life. Ever since I took the Nutrition Workshop with you guys, my life has not been the same. I feel much better, I have a lot more energy, I am happier and feel healthier. You taught me how and I am following and deepening my knowledge of myself as much as I can. SLEEP.....Finally! If you are having trouble sleeping this program is for you! For as long as I can remember I have had difficulty getting the proper amount of sleep. Through the nutrition program I began to see that my sleep difficulties came from my eating habits.....sweets before bed or coffee in the morning. I am so grateful for the Nutrition Program and the tools it has given me to improve my health and well being. I can now go to sleep and stay asleep with simply knowing what triggers my insomnia. Now when offered something sweet late in the evening its easy to turn it down...a good nights rest is much more gratifying. The biggest and most beautiful aspect of the Nutrition program is that you are taught to have compassion for yourself so you can share that amazing feeling with everyone around you! I wanted to write this letter to you to thank you for the work that you are doing with the Nutrition program.

My wife's life has been totally transformed in the last couple of weeks and she is not even finished with the program yet. For the last 12 years we have been trying to figure out how to be healthier - and now we know how. My wife leads what most people would consider a very healthy lifestyle (consistent work-outs and daily supplements) but she was not able to reach her goals previously. Though she thought that she was eating healthy, she frequently complained of indigestion and bloating. She worked out hard for two years and even ran a marathon trying to reach her ideal weight and fell short. The knowledge that you have given her from your Nutrition Program has resulted in her losing 7 pounds in the first week or two and fitting into jeans that have not fit in many years. She is energetic, vibrant, and it is wonderful to see her feeling well.

I know that there are many people out there who are puzzled why all the things they have tried have not helped them feel better and have more energy. Your Nutrition Program is definitely the answer for them and I'm excited for you to reach them.

It has been and continues to be a wonderful transformation for me.  I have started eating completely different and I am really enjoying it.  Gosh, I'm actually cooking and not just heating things...whatsupwiththat?!

The support structure established for the nutrition program is superb.  The meetings have been informative and, most of all, I have enjoyed the camaraderie and feedback of others.  The variety of feedback really helped me understand how my experiences compare and contrast with others.  Most foods I have tested have been uneventful, though the morning after I ate eggs throughout the day did not go well - I felt like I had a hang over. 

Previously, I never really claimed to be eating healthy but, by the same token, I never felt I was eating unhealthy - though I was eating about 80% processed foods.  Now, I have supplanted processed foods with organic goodies and am not only enjoying eating more but actually feeling and seeing the benefits.  What to do with all of this extra energy?  More yoga!!!

Believe it or not, my first day of organic  food shopping alone at the co-op was approached with some trepidation - I had never been in the store before and it felt kind of weird.  Now, of course, I love it and keep going back.  My family has been asking me about it and I have shared recipes and even committed to cooking for my parents.  

Regarding lifting, I lifted the first two weeks of the Cleanse but strained my lower back a little doing seated rows so lately I have only been doing cardio, push ups, pull ups and yoga at least 3 times per week now.  One of the great things about getting to know the instructors who were in the nutrition program is I am very comfortable trying their classes and have been more inclined to check out different classes and other studios.  Betsy led an awesome class on Wednesday for our last session of the nutrition program and for the first time after class I felt so incredibly energetic it was like Heather described herself on caffeine.  It was great!.  My hammies are really starting to open up - and I even held crow for about 5 seconds balancing on my fists and got my first headstand for about 2 seconds.

My first trip to a normal grocery store (KingSoopers) ended with absolutely NO purchases - I started reading the labels and decided I needed to go to wild oats - my poor husband gets the toxic food lecture every night - I'm sure you hear it all the time, but this has been life changing for me -

Today's the last day of testing for me...but as you've said, I will be "testing" for the rest of my life.  I have to say that this program has really CHANGED my life.  I am going to incorporate so many things I have learned on a permanent basis.  I have to share with you that I was skeptical about the cleanse and the impact it would have on me.  I wasn't "afraid" of the dietary restrictions on the cleanse (I can do anything for two weeks), I just didn't think it would really result in any new information for me.  I generally eat pretty healthy anyway, so no big deal, right?

Now that I'm on the other side, I'm amazed at how powerful it was.  I have learned so much about myself, my triggers, my avoid foods, and how I can keep a consistent amazing level of energy in my life.  As you have said in your lectures, now that I have the information its all about choices.  I can choose to maintain this vibrant energy in my life, or I can choose to sabotage it by returning to some of my previous eating habits.

Thank you for putting this wonderful information together into this program.  Everyone should be made to take this class...it should be required curriculum at ever school level: elementary, middle and high school!  What a different reality we would live in if everyone had this knowledge...

Thank you and all the coaches for the wonderful program.  It continues to be transformative process for me in many ways.  I am sleeping more soundly and deeply, my energy level is higher, and my mood is more even.   I feel better.  A surprising observation came from my dental hygienist who on Friday April 7th commented on how well I must be flossing.  I had to confess that I flossed no more frequently, however I had changed my diet.  She reported that there was a remarkable improvement in terms of less tartar and improved gum health (that measurement of millimeter gaps).  

Also, I am practicing yoga more frequently and see improvements in terms of my practice's depth, focus, stamina, balance and strength.   Others have noticed changes commenting on my improved posture.

At first I was, admittedly, a little apprehensive to sign up as I thought the Nutrition Program was aimed at a more “hardcore” yoga demographic. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a sometime yoga practitioner like me would benefit immensely from those 6 weeks of classes.

The Nutrition Program is not “one size fits all’. What works well for one person may not work for you so the blend of one-on-one attention combined with the support and enthusiasm of a large group is a recipe for individual success.

 

I was very skeptical about “the cleanse” – in fact I left the first session determined that I was not going to do it. I’m so very glad I opened my mind and gave it a try because I felt great! And when you feel great, you are so much more capable of making good choices in all areas of your life. And that is the key to achieving a healthier lifestyle.

 

My coach was available for individual questions and support during the week and in class to help us navigate through the information we received in our class resource guide. I had the opportunity to try new yoga styles, new foods and new ideas in an encouraging, non-judgmental environment. And the chef was amazing!

I must say, the energy and excitement in this class is contagious. Heather and the Team are so encouraging and fired up about educating us, it's hard not to jump in headfirst. They  do a fantastic job of breaking down the mass amounts of information available into small, bite-sized pieces. There is so much out there, it'd be easy for one to become bogged down with one book's theory or idea. The instructors have done most of the research for us, incorporating several theories and combined it for us, to get the best of all that is out there. The changes and new ways of life they suggest adopting are definitely attainable. I have made several changes for good, and they were easy! After the class is over, the next step is maintenance and continuing education- this is not a one time 6week project- it's setting us up for the rest of our lives.  They did a great job of arming us with information so we can continue to get smarter about nutrition and continually evolve. I think the most enjoyable part of the classes were listening to other students' experiences and suggestions- I felt I learned a lot from them as well. It was also fun sharing what I had learned and tried with the group.
 
A fun story: after a yoga class, I ventured over to Whole Foods (my new favorite store), and I ran into another student in the program.  We stood over the lemons (since we learned that they are really good for you and very versatile) and shared our experiences from the cleanse. We then tried to help each other find things, such as Ghee, and the sprouted bread- things that were new items on both of our shopping lists. You definitely don't feel alone during or after this program- the instructors and coaches are always there for you, for support, questions or just to stay in touch. I found myself emailing back and forth several times a day with my coach, even calling on the way home from yoga classes, just bouncing ideas off, sharing my progress on the cleanse, and just saying hi. I found this communication very helpful as we got into the cleanse.  I feel like we've been granted access to a whole new community through this program...You make friends with people that you might not otherwise have anything besides Yoga in common with, but this program is the common thread.
 
I also found myself talking to anyone who would listen about what I was learning...I think my co-workers got more information than they wanted! I just felt smarter from being in the class and wanted to share it with pretty much anyone who listen so they too could start making better choices, too.
 
If you are apprehensive about the cleanse, I think that's normal but it's nothing to be scared of. It's a such an enlightening experience and you'll feel amazing! You become so in tune with your body and what it needs and doesn't need. After I finished, I set a goal of doing the cleanse quarterly- I felt THAT good. It's going to be a time to make additional improvements in my choices. That's what they kept stressing in our class- upgrading our choices...they stress that you don't have to make every change right away or even attempt to, just make baby steps toward them.
 
I would highly suggest anyone remotely interested in creating healthier habits to take this class, and embrace it! Yes, it's a lot of information. Yes, it can be mind-boggling. Yes, you'll feel the changes and YES, you're worth it!
